Did you know that, on average, only one third of couples between the ages of 23 and 34 who are trying for a baby will fall pregnant in the first three months. If you are in that statistic, then you are not likely to feel the pressure of trying to conceive and may never have felt the impact that considering infertility can have. But if you are in the other two thirds of the population then not being able to start a baby the moment you have set your heart on it can be devastating.

After some time of trying unsuccessfully many will consider consulting their Doctor or GP to discuss the range of fertility treatments that are available to increase your chances of getting pregnant and starting a family. But before you start looking at artificial methods of improving your fertility, why not try some more natural solutions that may just do the trick.

According to ez-fertility who specialise in natural alternatives to fertility treatments, the first thing to look at is the lifestyle of both the man and the woman in the relationship to ensure they are doing everything they can on a fundamental level to ensure they have the highest chance possible of conceiving naturally.

Ez-fertility are not focused on the treatment of the infertility itself but look at the underlying causes that can hinder a couple in their desire to succeed and give completely natural and easy solutions so that you can improve your own lifestyle to increase your chances of conceiving both now and in the future.

Using their extensively researched questionnaire, one for the men and once for the women, the team at ez-fertility are able to evaluate every individual’s lifestyle and identify the areas that could be altered to make natural conception a little easier. These areas include the obvious elements to our everyday lives including health, activity and diet, but it also draws out some interesting details that you may not have thought of.

This questionnaire is available to take online so that it can be accessed by anyone in the world and there is even a counselling line available following the evaluation to assist you understand the test and deal with any issues that develop from taking the questionnaire. Though there is a small charge for both the questionnaire and the counselling line, the expense is minimal when you consider the extensive costs that can be incurred in the standard fertility treatments available to you on today’s health service.

So if you are having issues with fertility and would like some assistance, take a look at the ez-fertility website and see if an alternative form of support may be just what you are looking for.

To celebrate the start of Spring, we have a voucher code which enables you to get 10% off almost anything you buy at Boots.com when you spend over £70 this week.

Until midnight on Sunday 1st April, you simply click on the banner at the side of this page to go directly to the official Boots website and then start shopping. When you get to the checkout, enter voucher code SPRING10 and 10% will be taken off everything you buy excluding prescription items, gift boxing, delivery charges, gift vouchers/cards and infant formula which makes this a great time to get ready for all those fantastic summer holidays or even just looking great sat in the garden.

As the weather gets warmer pregnancy can become more and more uncomfortable, it is important to keep cool and relaxed especially in the hot weather. Make sure you keep to the shade if you feel you are going to overheat and drink lots of water to keep your hydration up and your baby nice and comfortable.

When it comes to maternity support, the maternity band seems to become a lot less popular in the summer months as the extra layer can be too much if you are already feeling warm. But there are some great alternatives.

If you choose a belly bra as your maternity support of choice, not only does it give you the support that you need but also acts as a camisole under a shirt or smart jacket so that you don’t need to add a layer to your outfit to make sure you feel comfortable. Or alternatively opt for the standard maternity belt which sits gently under your bump, is discrete and it means you can even show off your tanned tummy without loosing any of the benefits of the support it provides. Choose from white, black or skin colours that sit naturally under your tummy but support your back and belly so that you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout your pregnancy.

There are many maternity belts on the boots.com website including the range of Emma Jane maternity belts which are currently enjoying 20% discount, making each belt less than £10 and that is before you use our voucher code. With free delivery on all orders over £40 or free collect in store on all orders over £25, this is a great time to take advantage of some fabulous offers on site this week. All sale items and 3 for 2 products are included in this offer which makes now a great time to save and get ready for summer.

One of the loveliest times with a new baby has to be bath time – the splashing, the smiles and that lovely smell of freshly washed baby – what’s not to love?

Baby bath time is a great opportunity to introduce your baby to new games and toys and is also important in terms of establishing water confidence and preparing for swimming.

If you can, sharing a bath with your baby is a lovely way to enjoy bath times together.

When your baby is small, you can lay them on your chest and enjoy lots of skin to skin contact – not only does this promote water confidence, it is also great for bonding.

As they get older, you can have lots of fun blowing bubbles and generally just enjoying being in the water, in a different environment. There are all kinds of lovely toys you can buy for playing in the bath, but toddlers also enjoy just pouring water and watching it move about, so a selection of plastic cups and bowls are always fun. Encourage your child to pour water on themselves – or on you – to show that water isn’t anything to be scared of.

Of course the fun doesn’t have to stop when it’s time to get out, which is where the Cuddledry baby apron towel comes in!

Described by parents as “fantastically simple yet brilliant”, the Cuddledry baby towel’s unique apron design keeps you dry (if you’re not already in the bath!) and leaves both hands free for safer lifting. If you’ve ever struggled to lift a slippery baby from the bath and into a small towel you’ll appreciate just what a juggling act it can be!

Made with pure cotton and natural bamboo fibres, the Cuddledry is silky soft, super warm and extra absorbent – ideal for snuggling and cuddling your little one dry. So once you’re done in the bath, you can enjoy lots of bed time cuddles and keep your baby nice and warm at all times.

Cuddledry are currently offering Maternity Belt customers a special 15% discount of everything in the range. To claim your discount, simply shop through the Cuddledry website and enter the promotional code TUMMY15 when you check out.

Happy splashing!

If you are a mother over 40 or planning to conceive after this age, then finding information and support catered specifically for your age group can be difficult, which is why you need Mothers Over 40.

Mothers Over 40 is a website focused on supporting women who want to be parents after the age of 40 with information and advice specifically designed to help you.

Created by Jan Andersen, who herself had her fourth child at 39 and gave birth at 40, this site has details of everything you may want to ask when trying to conceive or raise a baby later in life.

Though there seems to be some stigma attached to women who choose to delay having a family until later in life, Jan would actually promote it and feels that she has been healthier and more willing to exchange her working life for a stay at home mum role, much easier with her fourth child than ever before.

Jan has written many books to support her work, including ‘Improve Your Fertility Naturally’ and ‘Enhancing Fertility After Age 40′ which are both full of specific advice that could support you in your attempts to become a mum.

Included on the site are articles and birth stories from other Mothers over 40 so that you can gain knowledge from people who have actually gone through these experiences and it gives you the opportunity to share your experiences with like minded people who all want to celebrate in their life choices.

Whether you have difficulties in your pregnancy that you need to discuss with someone or whether you are flying through your pregnancy and just want to share your experiences with a wider audience, Mothers Over 40 is a fantastic resource that you are going to want to use again and again as you start on one of the best journeys that life has to offer.

Whether you have the odd queasy day at the beginning of your pregnancy or are debilitated by morning sickness all day every day, keeping down food or even drink when you are feeling unwell can be incredibly challenging and very unpleasant, but the folks from Lillipops have come up with a fabulous idea – Iced Soothies that actually give you moisture and flavour that makes you feel better even when you cannot stomach normal food.

It is amazing that even when you do not feel like food or drink, ice can be a fabulous substitute to calm your stomach and make you feel more hydrated but ice itself is incredibly boring, and when you crave flavour and excitement ice just doesn’t hit the spot.

That is exactly what Denise Soden found when she was pregnant for the third time. Instead of being able to enjoy her pregnancy, as she had done her previous two, she found that her tastebuds went haywire and she completely lost her appetite. The only thing that she could consume was ice but that didn’t fulfil her craving for flavour. As soon as she converted to ice pops, Denise found she was no longer getting dehydrated and that her stomach finally started to settle.

Denise’s daughter Lilly was born at the end of 2006 and the Lillipop was born shortly after.

Each Lillipops multipack contains 20 ice soothies with a combination of Lemon & Mint, Grapefruit & Tangerine, Ginger, Lime & Vanilla and Chamomile & Orange. The flavours have been carefully created to excite your tastebuds but are also beneficial for pregnant women, including soothing chamomile & orange, revitalising lemon & mint and energising lime & vanilla.

So if you are experiencing nausea and heartburn during your pregnancy and want some natural relief maybe it’s time to try Lillipops for yourself and see just how beneficial this simple but absolutely amazing invention can be. You can order directly from the site or arrange for your Lillipops to be delivered directly to your local pharmacy. Click on the banner below to go directly to the Lillipops site and see for yourself how Lillipops can help you start to enjoy your pregnancy again.

No, there is no misspelling, the SnuggleBundl is the latest in a range of baby products that is designed to make life as a new mother easier, but the difference between this and other new nursery innovations we have seen recently is that this one actually works! And now you have a chance to win one of your very own.

The Bundl was originally designed for parents or carers that had difficulty bending to pick up or lay down their new born babies which is particularly important for women who have had Caesarean births or who have experienced back ache or SPD issues during the pregnancy itself. But in actual fact, this innovation is ideal for every woman who wants to be able to carry their baby without disturbing their sleep or has difficulty carrying their baby normally, possibly due to back issues or even when you give birth to twins or multiples.

In it’s basic form the SunggleBundl is a soft, cosy lifting blanket product that works just like a hammock with reinforced handles so that you can carry your baby easily and safely without disturbing your baby.

The Bundl supports your baby’s spine, head and neck and has a soft padded hood to protect the tender crown of your baby’s head. This creates a comfortable nest for your baby and eliminates the need for you to scoop or bend to pick up or lower your baby.

Transfer your baby into her cot or just between rooms with no strain or stress. It is ideal for women who have just given birth, for people with disabilities or difficulty lifting and is fantastic for grandparents who just want to feel more useful. But the SunggleBundl really comes into it’s own when you are travelling or going out in the car.

If you have ever tried to put a new born baby in the car, you will know how hard it is to twist and turn into the right position to gently lay your baby into their car seat. This is especially difficult if you are in a car park where there is limited space to manoeuvre, or of if you are still experiencing discomfort in your back or stomach from pregnancy or labour.

With the SnuggleBundl you only have to use one hand to gently place your baby into their car seat and ensure that they are safe and comfortable without risking further strain on your own body.

I have tried and tested the Bundl this week and have been amazed by how useful it can be.

When I gave birth to my twins I experienced a severe divarication which meant bending to pick up my boys was virtually impossible. The Bundl means that even with SPD and other pregnancy related medical issues, you can lift your baby and rest your baby down without having to ask other people for help all the time. You don’t have to be constantly worrying about straining your back to lift and lower your baby and it gives you much more independence, something I continue to crave!

Having Bundls also means that issues such as getting to the car or into another room with twins are resolved. When you have two new babies that require two hands to transfer individually, how do you decide who to leave behind either in the house or in the car? Obviously the answer is neither, but the only solution before the Bundl was to get the pushchair out and use that to transfer both boys at the same time – a ridiculous process and a complete waste of time.

Well, with Bundls you can safely take both babies at the same time quickly and comfortably. You can even leave them in the Bundl in their car seat under their five point harness making transferring at the other end so much easier aswell. And when you have arrived at your destination, you have the ultimate in play blanket to keep your babies and other peoples floors nice and clean.

We love this product and found so many uses for it. It is completely machine washable, comes up beautifully in the wash and can even be an extra layer in the cold weather. The Bundl itself comes in a great range of bright colours and looks really cool.

And the best news is, SunggleBundl have teamed up with Maternity Belt to offer you the chance to win this Rainbow style SnuggleBundl to try it out for yourself.
If you are in a quandary about what to take with you to the hospital when you have your baby, then why not take all the stress and strain out of the decision using an amazing new idea from Baby Mama Bags, the pre-packed hospital bag.

This ingenious idea was the invention of Anne Fotheringham who came up with the concept when she was pregnant with her first child in 2009.

After receiving so much conflicting advice from friends and family as to what to pack in her own labour/maternity hospital bag, Anne got to work using her own experience and NHS guidelines to devise a bag that contains all the essential items you require for you and your baby when you are in hospital and put them into a highly fashionable, gorgeously stylish range of bags that can then be used as a travel bag or baby changing bag throughout the early years of your baby’s life.

The contents of each pre-packed luxury hospital bag has been carefully selected to give you the range of high quality essential items that you and your baby will need for a 48-hour stay in hospital. Simply add your leaving outfit and your hospital notes and you will be set. Even if you don’t need a stay in hospital when you have your baby, the high quality items in this bag can easily be taken and used at home so there is no waste and you still have the most wonderful designs of baby changing bags that are going to make you the envy of your new friends at the baby and toddler groups.

A gorgeous range of pre-filled hospital bags

If you are concerned that there are additional items you will need to take to hospital that are not in the bag, then Baby Mama Bags also have a comprehensive essentials hospital checklist available on their website for you to download just to make sure you are completely covered.

With prices starting at just £24.99 right now, this is a great way to treat yourself or as a gift for a baby shower or expectant mother that is going to be practical and beautiful all at the same time.

You can find all the details on Baby Mama Bags on their site at http://www.babymamabags.co.uk/ including details of their sale and their up coming pre-filled baby changing bags for twins.
